English Plasma Gale to Hit Shelves on February 6th

Just another useless se--OH MY SHORTS!
Plasma Storm, the next English TCG set, will hit stores on February 6, 2012. This'll be the equivalent of Japan's Plasma Gale (BW8), which was released last September.

Well, pretty short info, but it's definitely news-worthy. That's it for now, guys! Stay tuned for more deets! See ya later!

Spiral Force/Thunder Knuckle ACE SPEC Card Revealed

Boner.

Rock Guard, an all-new ACE SPEC card from Spiral Force/Thunder Knuckle (BW8) has been revealed. In my opinion, this is a really great card, putting 6 damage counters on the attacking Pokémon whenever attached to your Active Pokémon.

To those of you who's still clueless on how ACE SPEC cards work, they're Trainer cards, really powerful Trainer Cards. The only catch, though, is that you can only have one ACE SPEC card in your deck.

Rock Guard's inferior brother.

5 Simple Pokemon Designs (That Actually Rock) – Kanto Edition

Through the years, Pokemon gave us tons of critters that either touched our hearts or burned our eyes. Imagination is the limit with Ken Sugimori and the other monster designers who came up with chickens, slugs, inanimate objects (candles, magnets, gears) and, oh, multi-headed chickens.
Monsters like Lugia, Infernape, Zekrom, Reshiram, Charizard, Rayquaza and a whole lot more shockers made our jaws drop with their epicsauce looks. These guys are proof that simplicity is not the only thing that’s good.

Simplicity, however, stands on a different ground, one that’s as epic as complicity. Sure, the dude above are downright LE-GEN-DA-RY in terms of design, but what about the less complicated ones that actually look great?
And so it comes to this. Listed down below (in no particular order) are my personal picks of the 5 simple-looking Pokemon on Kanto that deffo looks awesomesauce.

1. Seel – Ah. Cute, tiny Seel. Look at this thing. It’s all plain and simple, dontcha think? It looks like when Sugimori thought of making a sea lion/narwhal for the franchise’s first games, he knew from the beggining that making it look badass would just ruin the whole thing. Really, Seel are prime examples of Sugimori’s creative yet realistic designs.

2. Squirtle – A lot of people would say “Hey, that’s not simple-looking at all! It’s standing!” Well, screw you. Ha!

Yes, Squirtle stand. Still, its design is as simple as can be. No complicated color schemes, no shoulder cannons, no nothing – and it works! Also, look at that face. It almost looks like a face doodled at the back of your notebook.

3. Mew – Here’s a fun fact: did you know that Mew got its name from the Japanese way of saying ‘meow’? It’s Japanese name, Miiu, sounds like its English one.

Although a legendary, this guy looks more like a rare, evasive Pokemon. I have no idea where its design originated from, but we can all thank Sugimori for giving us the critter that’s practically the reason for all the Mythical Pokemon’s existence.

4. Weedle – All this guy’s got for unnatural absurdity is a noggin with a horn and a sharp tail. It also looks innocent, a perfect disguise to troll anyone who forgot to bring an Antidote for their journey. Lolz.

5. Gastly – A toxic floating gas ghost that isn’t overdesigned? Genius, just genius.

That’s all for now. Remember, being big and fierce-looking’s not everything. Sometimes, coolness comes in a tiny pack, too. Stay tuned for more, guys! Later!

Five Pokémon Video Game Characters That Need Wardrobe Changes

If you do not know anything about fashion (just like me, yay!), here’s my tip: DO NOT EMULATE THESE GUYS.

#5. Marlon (Black 2 and White 2)

That tanned thing goin’ on is just... disturbing. And why is there a tan line
just below his tummy? Did his pants shrink? Did he grow some height and forgot to buy a new pair? Ah, mysteries of life.

#4. Shauntal (Black and White, Black 2 and White 2)

Guuurl, that must hurt your neck.

#3. Clay (Black and White, Black 2 and White 2)

”Hello? Yes. Um, why does my pants look ridiculously stupid? Was it really tailored right?”

#2. Crasher Wake (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum)

His fashion sense is just so wrong in so many ways. Plus, BLUE AND ORANGE?!

#1. Dome Ace Tucker (Emerald)

No. Just no. Why would a straight man wear something like that? Was he on drugs when he agreed to wear that thing in front of hundreds, if not thousands, of spectators on the Battle Dome? I feel sorry for him.

Seriously.

Well, that's all for now. Anyone I've missed?

Black, White Kyurem Boxes Cancelled

How I really look like right now

The Boundaries Crossed Black and White Kyurem boxes revealed days ago have been canceled for some unknown reason. TPCi has probably cut the cord for the boxes. Evidence shows that every single product distributor site that had listed it before had them put down in their  listings, leaving us wondering why the hell did they do that. Marketing strategies? Deadly deadlines (see what I did there?)? Nobody knows.

Mystery Dungeon Game on 3DS Leaks

Oh. My. Hobglob.

Early scans of CoroCoro magazine have been leaked showing an epicsauce Pokémon game for the Nintendo 3DS: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth! We can all cry in amazement now.

According to Pokébeach.com, the game begins with you having this really weird dream and waking up later to find out you've turned into a Pokémon. Turns out you can either be Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig or Axew.

Also, a lot of fifth gen Pokémon will appear on the game, including Virizion, Hydreigon, Mincinno and Cofagrigus. Sinnoh Pokémon like Rampardos will be on the game, too.

The game's objective is to scan objects here in the real world using 3DS' camera to unlock mysterious portals called Magnagates, allowing you to enter new dungeons. Sounds exciting, huh? That's not all. Since it's on the 3DS, it's safe to say that this may be the first-ever real Pokémon game to be in 3D! Wootwoot!

Stay tuned for more deets on this epicsauce shocker! Later!

10 Things Pokémon Should Do Right Now

Ever thought about things that Nintendo could actually do to make Pokémon more epic than the the word epic itself? Chances are you have, and chances are that some of the stuff listed below are things that will make you go "Oh! I thought so, too!" Here's my Top Ten List of Things Pokémon Should Do Right Now.

1. Make a game where you can visit all main game regions.

Sure, BW was pure epic, with its deeper-than-before story, richsauce graphics and improved gameplay, but wouldn't it be nice to make a game where you can actually visit Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova throughout your journey? Just imagine how much time you'll burn trying to catch 'em all while hopping from one cool region to another.

Exactly what you'll look like thirty days into the game.

2. Make an R/S/E remake!

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald were the bestselling GBA games of all time. What about it? We all know that there is a reason for it to be on top. That reason, ladies and gents, is AWESOMESAUCENESS. Just pure AWESOMESAUCENESS. Everything about the games were right! They were all ahead of their time and it showed doubters that Pokémon was sooo not going down the drain.

Also, Mudkipz.

Also, Hoenn's the only main game region which appeared in only a single generation. Hoenn needs JUSTICE!

3. Make some sort of a Create Your Own Pokémon Design Contest for the fans. The winning entry gets the chance to turn into REAL Pokémon!

Let's face the fact: some Unova Pokémon sucked big time in terms of design (yes, we ARE looking at you, Stunfisk). A lot really look cool enough to pass for a Pokémon, but others were just pure garbage (you get it, Garbodor?).

This Pokémon despises Trubbish. So yeah, hide yo Trubbish, hide yo Garbodor.

Would it not be epic to see drool-worthy Pokémon designs that people like us designed? Think about it. Maybe there's more to Pokémon than an evolving ice cream. Maybe flying god-like doomsday bringers are in right now.

Oh.

4. Make more frightening game antagonists.

Kidnapping Pokémon, altering the natural weather, trying to control time and space and separating humans from the purty handy creatures sound reaaally evil, but did you notice something every time you defeat the game's "evil" organization?

"I told you to stay away from my teddy, Kyogre!"

The bosses disappear. Just like that. You give the world a truckload of weather problems and you just go dancing around the region after some random kid unleashes a dragon that put a stop to the weather monsters you summoned. No jail time for you too, because people see that you've turned over a new leaf or some sort of crap like that. WHY DO THAT?! You can try and summon the monztahs again and piss everyone off just for the hell of it! Ride the S.S. Anne without a pass! Throw rocks at Goldenrod Gym's windows ('cause that Miltank's just as annoying!)! Kidnap kids and make them search for hidden treasure with their Zigzagoon! Be evil, dude! Be reaaaaaally evil!

Also, if you're a Boss, stop stealing your grandma's clothes.

5. Do an all-new anime about the video games. With all the drama the original series doesn't have, of course.

Pokémon B2/W2's animated trailer pretty much sums up everything about this one.

After seeing the game trailer, they knew for sure that their end was near.

6. Make Pokémon TCG a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER.

Every ten seconds, a kid from the Philippines dies from Pokémontooexpensiveimea, a deadly disease caused by grieving too much over a Pokémon TCG booster pack from a local department store that he knows he will never be able to buy (because it's too freakin' expensive). Share this blog post and help save the children in need of one.

For more information, visit rubbishiswhatyourereadingrightnow.net.

You are but a distant dream, green snake thing.

7. Make a Misty/Brock special or something.

Everybody loves 'em. Nobody-- not even a ten-year-old League Champion or a noob Pokémon coordinator could replace them in our hearts. So to Satoshi Tajiri and the rest of the Pokémon crew, if you're reading this, make something really expensive in honor of these two epicsauce characters we've grown to love deep in our hearts (awww). Like, I don't know, a reality show or something.

Even a 30-minute Rock, Paper, Scissors match between the two will do.

8. Bring back Jessie and James' Weezing and Arbok.

Again, who hates these guys?

HUWEEHING!

STARBUCKSA!

9. Team up with other companies to make MORE title crossovers.

Pokémon Conquest was actually a really good game. I think the guys at Nintendo need to keep it coming and do these other crossovers, too.

  • Pokémon: The Dark Descent
  • The Legend of Pokémon
  • Street Fighter Pokémon
  • Pokémon Kart Kanto
  • Pokémon Kinect Rocket (free Giovanni's workout guide)
  • Pocket Monsters' Creed 1, 2, 3, 3.5, 3.5 Overload, and Uber4.
  • Call of Duty: Ghetsis Strikes (Your) Back
  • Nii Fit

So adorable, until he burns your soul.

10. MAKE A FREAKIN' ONLINE RPG!

A world where WoW fits perfectly. Wooooowee.

Pokémon on Steroids. That would be a great title.

Heaven.

Bonus: Minus down on being too much child-friendly.

Sometimes, being kid-friendly chokes you so hard that you can't even show people in the sea wearing bathing suits. Hello? What are they supposed to wear, meat dresses?

Oh, I'm sorry. That's not good for kids, too.

Anything I've missed? Feel free to share it in the comments section below!

That's it for now, dudes. Stay tuned for more deets! Later!

TCG NEWS: Boundaries Crossed and Kyurem Battle Strength Decks

TCG enthusiasts, rejoice! America's November set will be called Boundaries Crossed, the West's equivalent of Japan's own BW6 Cold Flare and Freeze Bolt.

The set is said to hit stores on November 7th. It will feature all-new cards like Black Kyurem-EX, White Kyurem-EX, Keldeo-EX Resolute Form and a whole lot more.

The set's teaser. Can you say "Blue Blink"?

Also, the set will introduce never-before-seen ACE SPEC cards, another addition to the card game's ever-expanding card classifications.

Now on to another hot TCG news. Japan's "Battle Strength Black Kyurem-EX” and “Battle Strength White Kyurem-EX” are finally revealed. It features alternate artworks of both Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, respectively. For the Black Kyurem deck, there will be an all-new Zapdos-EX Plasma, and for the White Kyurem deck, a Moltres-EX Plasma will be up for grabs.

I have never been this excited for a bunch of playing cards. *shivers*

What's pretty neat is that Articuno is in Plasma Gale, too, and an EX Plasma one at that. This means all of the Legendary Birds are gonna have a release. Awesomesauce!

Thanks goes to Pokebeach.com for the images. Go check out the site, too.

Well, that's it for now, folks. Stay tuned for more deets! Later!

PN Revamps! + Moar Pokémon DYKs

Wootwoot! PokémoNews just got revamped! Cheese for everyone!

This blog's still got a long, long way to go, yes, but one thing's for sure: I will never stop 'till I turn this into a huge online blog with a fitting huge community. To you, dear reader, I give my thanks for supporting this site!

Anyway, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 is just around the corner. And while we impatiently wait for October 27 to come, I'll go give you 5 Pokémon did-you-knows to stuff your nose into. Ta-da!

1. Charizard is number one on IGN.com's list of top 100 Pokémon in 2011. As if that wasn't cool enough, it was also voted as the favorite Pokémon by Official Nintendo Magazine readers in February 2012. You go, Char-o!

2. Mew and Ditto are alike in many ways. They both have leveled IVs, they have the same color, they both learn Transform just by leveling (note: they're the only Pokémon who can do that), and they weigh the same. Many speculate that Ditto is a failed attempt to clone Mew.

Also, Ditto are found in Cerulean cave, Mewtwo's hiding spot. Coincidence?

Whodathunk a face like that could spark legendary rumors?

3. Mewtwo Strikes Back, the first Pokémon movie, was supposed to be the series finale of Pokémon; however, the anime was so successful that it was renewed for another season. Now if only the anime'd climb up a notch in terms of epicness...

4. Emerald was released in Japan one week after FireRed and LeafGreen were released in North America. You can just imagine all the hype that time.

5. The Pokémon that has the highest level available for capture in the wild is Magikarp (ironic, huh?). You can actually find one that's level 100 in the Resort Area in Pokémon Platinum.

What's that? Magikarp are for noobz?

Well, that's all for now. Tune in tomorrow or the day after it for an all new post. Later!
