Spiral Force/Thunder Knuckle ACE SPEC Card Revealed
Boner. |
Rock Guard, an all-new ACE SPEC card from Spiral Force/Thunder Knuckle (BW8) has been revealed. In my opinion, this is a really great card, putting 6 damage counters on the attacking Pokémon whenever attached to your Active Pokémon.
To those of you who's still clueless on how ACE SPEC cards work, they're Trainer cards, really powerful Trainer Cards. The only catch, though, is that you can only have one ACE SPEC card in your deck.

5 Simple Pokemon Designs (That Actually Rock) – Kanto Edition
Through the years, Pokemon gave us tons of critters that
either touched our hearts or burned our eyes. Imagination is the limit with Ken
Sugimori and the other monster designers who came up with chickens, slugs,
inanimate objects (candles, magnets, gears) and, oh, multi-headed chickens.
Monsters like Lugia, Infernape, Zekrom, Reshiram, Charizard,
Rayquaza and a whole lot more shockers made our jaws drop with their epicsauce
looks. These guys are proof that simplicity is not the only thing that’s good.
Simplicity, however, stands on a different ground, one
that’s as epic as complicity. Sure, the dude above are downright LE-GEN-DA-RY
in terms of design, but what about the less complicated ones that actually look
great?
And so it comes to this. Listed down below (in no particular
order) are my personal picks of the 5 simple-looking Pokemon on Kanto that
deffo looks awesomesauce.
1. Seel – Ah. Cute, tiny Seel. Look at this thing. It’s all
plain and simple, dontcha think? It looks like when Sugimori thought of making
a sea lion/narwhal for the franchise’s first games, he knew from the beggining
that making it look badass would just ruin the whole thing. Really, Seel are
prime examples of Sugimori’s creative yet realistic designs.
2. Squirtle – A lot of people would say “Hey, that’s not
simple-looking at all! It’s standing!” Well, screw you. Ha!
Yes, Squirtle stand. Still, its design is as simple as can
be. No complicated color schemes, no shoulder cannons, no nothing – and it
works! Also, look at that face. It almost looks like a face doodled at the back
of your notebook.
3. Mew – Here’s a fun fact: did you know that Mew got its
name from the Japanese way of saying ‘meow’? It’s Japanese name, Miiu, sounds
like its English one.
Although a legendary, this guy looks more like a rare,
evasive Pokemon. I have no idea where its design originated from, but we can
all thank Sugimori for giving us the critter that’s practically the reason for
all the Mythical Pokemon’s existence.
4. Weedle – All this guy’s got for unnatural absurdity is a
noggin with a horn and a sharp tail. It also looks innocent, a perfect disguise
to troll anyone who forgot to bring an Antidote for their journey. Lolz.
5. Gastly – A toxic floating gas ghost that isn’t
overdesigned? Genius, just genius.
That’s all for now. Remember, being big and fierce-looking’s
not everything. Sometimes, coolness comes in a tiny pack, too. Stay tuned for
more, guys! Later!
