SUPERDUPER LATE UPDATE: WORLDS RESULTS, PLASMA-THEMED TCG, GENESECT MOVESET AND MIGNONA ON DUBBED KELDEO MOVIE

I am sooooo sorry for updating real late! It's hell here in the Philippines, with midterms and other totally annoying stuff to, well, annoy you. Anyway, here's what we all missed.

The Pokémon World Championships (PWC) 2012  is over! And, yes, no crap-throwing dudes this time around. For the TCG Championships,  Shugo Itagaki (Juniors Division), Chase Moloney (Seniors Division), and Igor Costa (Masters Division) all made it to the top and got crowned as 2012 TCG champs! For the Video Game Championships, Abram Burrows, Toler Webb, and Ray Rizzo (from the Juniors, Seniors and Masters, respectively) won the tournament . Rizzo sounds familiar? Dude, he's won the competition for three years now! Both the TCG and video game final matches were streamed live, a first for the franchise.

Americans Are the Best Pokemon Video Game Players in the World. We Just Suck at Cards.
Suck my Pokéballs, Ketchum.

On a side note, Worlds '13'll be in Vancouver! It's gonna be the first time the event will be held outside the States. Epic!

Also, the franchise's official Japanese website finally revealed Plasma Gale, an all-new line of playable TCG cards. It features Pokémon owned by Team Plasma with the Plasma logo behind its moves (kinda cool, if you ask me). Crobat, Klinklang, Skarmory (whut?) and Beartic are some of the Pokémon that'll be in the set. Oh, i forgot to mention Lugia. Yes, LUGIA.

Is this even real life?!

Next up, Genesect. This odd Transformer's Optimus Prime and Mewtwo's love child's moves, based on a leaked CoroCoro mag page (hooray!) are Magnet Bomb, Signal Beam, Hyper Beam, and its Judgement-like signature pwner, Techno Blast (sounds like a Skrillex track for me).

Oh, Optimus. You so promiscuous.

Aaand last but not the least is Vic Mignona. Who dat, you ask? Go away and screw yourself. Kidding. Mignona is a well-known voice actor, probably best known for giving life to Fullmetal Alchemist's Edward Elric through his epicsauce dubbing skuhllz. Anyway, he has announced on  his pretty dope Twitter that he just finished dubbing a lead role in the upcoming Pokémon movie. Who's he gonna be? No one knows. Yet.

Also, he's still waiting for the third Pokémon movie to come out.

Well, that's it for now. Live long and catch 'em all! Stay tuned for more deets, guys! Later!

B/W did-you-knows

Pokemon Black 2 Boxart EN.png
Shoul be Steroids Version.
We all know that  Pokémon Black 2 and White 2  (the English version, dude) is just around the corner. Don't get your hopes up too much, though: it's still months before you find out what the hype's all about. That is, if you're no kanji reader.

So, as we all wait impatiently for the English release, here's some B/W did-you-knows that you need to know. Coolio!

  • Game Freak spent about one and a half years developing the story and characters. Purty cool if you ask me; the story was epic!
  • Pokémon Black and White are the first main series games to require the version mascot to be specifically caught. You will never have the chance to finish the game at all if you fail to catch Reshiram (for Black) or Zekrom ( for White).
  • In the international versions, Pokémon names are no longer displayed in all capital letters. No more wild ZUBAT for you.

Every freakin' time.
  • When the games were advertised or reported on  Pokémon Sunday, the song Black or White by Michael Jackson was played multiple times as a reference to the titles of the games. Japanese.
  • The slogan used in the commercials for these games is "Start From a New Beginning". Yeah, right. Start from an new Digimon-like beginning. Kidding!
  • Due to the DS cartridges being black, Pokémon Black is the first Pokémon game since Emerald to have its cartridge match the color of the game. Fun.
  • It's the first  Pokémon game to receive a perfect 40/40 from gaming mag Famitsu!
  • It's got the most number of new Pokémon introduced in a single game.

Got any more DYKs about the games? Go ahead and share it in the comments!

Pokédex 3D Pro to hit North America on November 8

North America is in for a treat!

Pokédex 3D Pro will be available in North America on November 8.

"Oh, don't be so cold."

The Nintendo 3DS app will fill you in on the details on ALL 649 Pokémon. Woot!

This time, though, the app will NOT be free. Unlike Pokédex 3D, this will deffo take some greens of yours away from your piggy bank.

Meanwhile, news for the much-awaited Pokémon Dream Radar are still, ahem, under the radar. This app utilizes the Nintendo 3DS's camera and allows you, earthling, to search for Pokémon in the real world. Suh-weet!

Too. Much. Epicness.

Stay tuned for more deets, guys! Later!
